91-year-old ethnic Indian is Malaysia's oldest composer :
Ajit Kumar Joardar, a 91-year-old ethnic Indian musician, has been recognised by Malaysia Book of Records as the oldest man to compose, produce and edit a music album.

Joardar, who has no formal training in music, was recognised as the oldest man to compose, produce and edit an album.

   Mr. Joardar took up golf in 1947, for exercise and pleasure at the Cameron Highlands golf course. He read books on golf  and received  tips from the caddy master.He became one of the first few non Europeans to play golf there, at that time. Later he played competitive golf and at the height of his game he was a low single handicapper. In 1960 he left Cameron highlands and joined Dunlop industries in Bahau, Negeri Sembilan. He immediately joined the Seremban International golf club (SIGC) He was elected as the Captain of the the club in 1966.

Joardar's music is dedicated to his family and his grandson who suffers from autism.

After his bypass in 1992, Joardar joined a meditation group, where he felt a divine power overwhelm him. After two months of meditation, he continued to chant tunes, which evolved into penning his own music. However, most of his musical compositions are melancholic, and they are dedicated to his grandson, who suffers from autism. When his daughter asked him to try writing more cheerful ones, Joardar composed some melodious love songs.

"Oldest to compose and produce Music Album"  at a golden age of 91 years. He started recording the album last November, three months after his 91st birthday. The record has nine tracks, culled from 40 of his original compositions. Called Geeton Ka Guldasta or Bouquet of Melodies, 3,000 copies of the album are being sold at RM20.90 each.
